Gardening Trowels

A gardening trowel is one of those "must have" items every gardener in the world needs and can't live without. The easiest way to describe a trowel is as a miniature shovel. Most of them are only about 6 to 12 inches long with a thick, strong handle and it's bent slightly in the middle down both sides.

A trowel is usually used for digging up small parts of a garden, or just generally loosening up the dirt in and around your garden. It's also a great way to handle extra dirt. Say you're going to mix some fertilizer in with the soil, the trowel can easily mix and re-plant the soil in your garden.

Even though these are the most common uses for a gardening trowel, it has a wide array of other uses such as breaking up bricks and other material for your garden, leveling and smoothing the dirt in your garden, and even spreading things like cement and plaster. It's like the swiss army knife of gardening.
